I noticed Ollie looking around. Everyone had stopped dancing to watch the drama unfold. Someone even turned off the music.

Ollie was stone-faced. He went up to her and grabbed her arms.

“Let’s get out of here right now,” he said tightly.

“Let go of my arms, jerk-face.” The girl tried to wrench free of his grasp. But he held firm and dragged her towards the gym exit.

He turned to Chase, Ty and Alex, who had joined the melee and gestured for them to follow him. The three of them broke from the crowd of bystanders and followed. Mrs. Talbot, the vice principal who was one of the judges, came up and told everyone to get back to whatever they were doing and followed after Ollie and the girl out of the gymnasium.
